WE NEED YOUR HELP: Help Keep The Phage Therapy Free and Independent

When we created The Phage Therapy in 2025, our goal was simple: make reliable information about bacteriophages and phage therapy easier to find, understand and access.

What started as a scientific information website has grown into something much larger.

Today, researchers, clinicians, students, biotechnology professionals and people interested in bacteriophages visit The Phage Therapy from around the world. More than 103,000 visits have now been recorded since the beginning of the project.

And the growth is accelerating.

Last month, The Phage Therapy received almost 14,000 visits.

This month, we have already passed 22,500.

Our current traffic is now approaching an average of 900 visits every day.

For a website dedicated to such a specialized scientific field, these numbers mean a lot to us. They show that there is a real need for a place where information about bacteriophages can be gathered, explained and made accessible.

But we want to grow without changing what made this project useful in the first place.

The Phage Therapy has no advertising.

We do not want intrusive pop-ups covering scientific articles. We do not want readers to face a paywall before accessing information. Our newsletter remains free. We are strengthening the protection of user information, and we refuse to build our audience around misleading headlines or exaggerated claims simply because they generate more clicks.

We know that scientific communication must remain accurate, particularly in a field as rapidly developing as phage therapy. We will not always be perfect, but accuracy, transparency and correction of mistakes will remain priorities.

At the same time, The Phage Therapy is no longer just a news website.

We are developing an ecosystem of six interconnected resources: PhageAtlas®, PhageTrials®, PhageAtLabs®, PhageJobs®, WikiPhage® and MyPhage®.

Each addresses a different part of the bacteriophage ecosystem, from biotechnology companies and clinical trials to research laboratories, employment opportunities and educational resources.

One of our biggest current projects is PhageAtLabs®.

Its objective is to map academic laboratories, universities, institutes and research teams working with bacteriophages around the world.

We want students to be able to discover laboratories working in their field. We want researchers to identify potential collaborators. We want scientists entering the phage community to understand where research is happening and who is working on what.

We hope to bring PhageAtLabs online around Christmas.

But building these resources takes time.

Laboratories have to be identified and checked individually. Research areas have to be verified. Databases have to be maintained. Articles have to be read, compared and written. Clinical trials and job opportunities have to be followed. The website itself has to be developed and maintained.

Behind every page and every tool is real work from our team.

Until now, much of that work and many of the costs associated with the project have been supported internally.

We would like to keep one principle unchanged:

The Phage Therapy should remain free to access.

That is why we are asking for your help.

If one of our articles has helped you discover a study, if PhageJobs helped you find an opportunity, if one of our databases saved you research time, or if The Phage Therapy simply helped you understand this field a little better, you can now support the project through Ko-fi.

Support The Phage Therapy: https://ko-fi.com/thephagetherapy

There is no obligation to contribute, and there is no contribution too small to matter.

A donation helps us maintain the website, continue developing our free tools, expand our databases and keep producing scientific content without turning The Phage Therapy into a website filled with advertising, pop-ups or paid access.

Most importantly, it helps preserve the kind of platform we want to build.

Independent.

Accessible.

Scientifically serious.

International.

And free.

More than 100,000 visits tell us that people are using what we have built.

Nearly 900 visits every day tell us that the community is growing.

Now we want to make the platform better.

If The Phage Therapy has ever helped you, and if you want to help us continue this work, you can support us here: https://ko-fi.com/thephagetherapy

And if you cannot contribute financially, sharing our work, following the project, sending us new research, suggesting laboratories for PhageAtLabs or simply telling someone about The Phage Therapy also helps enormously.

Thank you for being part of this project.

We still have a lot to build.
